This month's article is about old negative messages can be playing an insistent drum beat that stops us from being effective. Tap through the wording below to help you neutralise your particular chaotic rhythm and so that you can bring in a more supportive message to your self. Choose a specific mental pattern you wish to change in order to get the most benefit.

While tapping the karate chop spot on either hand, repeat these phrases out loud, or change the words to fit your exact situation.
"Even though I keep nagging myself with that negative tone of voice that tells me I've not done enough, maybe I can find ways to be more kind to myself "
"Even though I've been playing this drum beat for so many years and I know it all too well, I love and accept myself "
"Even though I'm sick and tired of how I always drag myself down with this negative thought pattern, I love and accept myself"
I have indicated where to tap while saying each of the phrases below. You may repeat this round more than once if you wish.
***These phrases focus on tapping out the problem***
1st Round
Head: "I tell myself all day long that I'm not good enough "
Eyebrow: "Sometimes it feels this message is ingrained in me "
Side of Eye: "I keep hearing it and it drags me down "
Under Eye: "Sometimes it's a hyper-critical voice that makes me cringe inside"
Nose: "Where did I learn this negative way of thinking? "
Chin: "Why do I beat myself up whilst beating out this rhythm? "
Collarbone: "Maybe I've learnt this pattern from someone or somewhere "
Under Arm: "Maybe I can explore how I can change it "
Ribs: "After all if I've learnt it maybe I can unlearn it? "
Tap on specific negative events or situations that stand out in your mind connected with this thought pattern. Use language that captures exactly how you feel. The more honest you are with yourself whilst tapping, the more freedom you will achieve.
***These phrases bring in a positive focus on the solution***
Head: "I want to let go of this negative thought pattern "
Eyebrow: "I'd like to feel in charge "
Side of Eye: "Wouldn't it be nice if I didn't have to keep a lid on this? "
Under Eye: "Wouldn't it be nice if could relax knowing I've got a more positive outlook going? "
Nose: "I'd like to be working with my mind rather than against it "
Chin: "I know that there are times when I've been in the flow of positive thinking and it's felt good "
Collarbone: "And I'd like to bring that in to my experience more "
Under Arm: "What if I can grow this feeling? "
Ribs: "That'd empower me further "
