Defining your goal
The aim of this meditation is to help you gain focus on what you want to achieve.
-
Find a comfortable quiet place to sit in where you won’t be disturbed for 20 minutes. Natural light is great, or near a favourite plant. Turn the phone off.
-
Sit in a comfortable chair with your back straight but well-supported.
-
Close your eyes. Take comfortable deep breaths throughout your meditation.
-
Let your mind wander where it will for a few moments.
-
Turn your thoughts to your chosen goal. Notice what feels good about it and how it makes you feel rich. How does it support you in your self-development? See yourself growing with your goal. Do any worries come up? See each one sitting in a white or pink bubble of light being carried away from you on the wind.
-
Let your mind show you ways in which you will practically benefit from this goal. What will you have to speak of once it’s realised? Sense how good this feels. Enjoy that sensation and expand on it in whatever way feels right for you.
-
Notice how others might react to you when you achieve it. Enjoy the compliments. If there are any negatives, see each one being carried away from you in a white or pink balloon. Those thoughts no longer affect you. Do this until you can maintain a positive focus about your goal.
-
At the end of the meditation enjoy a glass of water to help you back into the waking world.
It’s great to make 20 minutes every day for this meditation. You’re refining the focus of your goal and committing to it by spending time figuring what it would be like. Over the days and weeks that you do this you’ll be able to focus more and more on your goal, and spend time in creating the detail of how you’re going to get there.
